The Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) is given to students who are undergraduates. An ACG college grant will provide an amount up to $750 for a first year undergraduate student while it will provide an amount up to $1300 to a second year undergraduate student. You need to be a US citizen to be eligible for an ACG. You also need to be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant. You will also need to pursue a full-time course. Your high school program progress will count in obtaining the ACG. The quality of your high school program will be decided by the state or local education agency. It should also be recognized by the Secretary of Education.
You will have to submit a completed FAFSA to apply for this college grant. Even if you have been granted the Pell Grant, you can still be awarded with the ACG. If you are a second year student, then you need to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or more. You also need to graduate after Jan 1, 2005 from a high school to be eligible for this college grant.
